The Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek is a publicly accessible archive and research library of European literary and cultural history from the 16th to the 21st century, located in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany. The library was founded in 1792 by Anna Amalia, Duchess of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, who served as regent of the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach from 1758 to 1775 and later became the reigning Duchess from 1797 to 1807. The library is renowned for its extensive holdings of early manuscripts, first editions, and rare books, including works by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich Schiller, and Gotthold Ephraim Lessing.
