Buxton Back in Lineup Thursday

Twins' Center Fielder Set to Return After Hamstring Injury

Byron Buxton is scheduled to return to the Minnesota Twins' lineup on Thursday, May 11, after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury. The 28-year-old center fielder has been one of the Twins' most productive players this season, batting .297 with four home runs and nine RBIs in 28 games.

Buxton's Injury and Recovery

Buxton left Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox in the fourth inning with tightness in his left hamstring. He underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed a mild strain.

Buxton has been receiving treatment for the injury and has been gradually increasing his activity level. He took batting practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and participated in fielding drills on Wednesday. He reported no setbacks and is expected to be ready to play on Thursday.

Buxton's Importance to the Twins

Buxton is a key player for the Twins. He is a Gold Glove-caliber defender in center field and provides a spark at the top of the lineup. He is also one of the team's best baserunners.

With Buxton in the lineup, the Twins are a much more dangerous team. They are 17-11 this season when Buxton plays and 4-5 when he does not.

Upcoming Games

The Twins will face the Kansas City Royals in a four-game series starting Thursday. They will then travel to Cleveland for a three-game series against the Guardians before returning home to face the Boston Red Sox.
