Aces, Sky to Face Off in WNBA Semifinals

Las Vegas, Chicago Win Respective Series

Two of the hottest teams in the WNBA will meet in one of the semifinals when the Las Vegas Aces visit the Chicago Sky on Tuesday. The Aces advanced to the semifinals for the fourth time in franchise history and second year in a row after beating the Indiana Fever, 3-1. Meanwhile, the Sky are back in the semifinals for the third time in the past four years after beating the Atlanta Dream, 3-1.

Aces Aiming for Third Straight Finals Appearance

The Aces have been one of the most dominant teams in the WNBA since relocating to Las Vegas in 2018. They have won 80% of their regular season games and reached the playoffs in all five seasons. Las Vegas has also been to the WNBA Finals twice in the past three years, winning the championship in 2022. Chelsea Gray has been outstanding for the Aces in the playoffs, averaging 23.0 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game. A’ja Wilson has also been productive, averaging 19.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

Sky Seek First WNBA Title Since 2021

The Sky won the WNBA championship in 2021, but they were eliminated in the semifinals in 2022. This year, the Sky have rebounded to post a 26-10 record, and they are looking to make another run to the Finals. Candace Parker has been the leader of the Sky this season, averaging 13.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. Courtney Vandersloot has also been key for the Sky, averaging 10.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game.

Aces vs. Sky Playoff History

The Aces and Sky have met twice in the playoffs, with each team winning once. Las Vegas won in the first round in 2019, while Chicago won in the semifinals in 2021. The Aces and Sky are two of the best teams in the WNBA, and their semifinal series is sure to be a close one. The Aces have more experience in the playoffs, but the Sky have home-court advantage.
